Win 10 update re-set Daz Studio?

Windows did an update about 20 minutes ago. When I restarted windows and opened DS my workspace at reset to like when it installs. My saved workspace was still there but when loaded it was messed up and not like I saved it. Had to set up my workspace and toolbar tools all over again.

Also noticed that my photo editing program opened like it had just been installed.... at the start screen. Might be something to do with the windows registery. What a pain.

Daz Studio saves its layout files in the AppData folder, so my suspicion would be that there was an issue with that rather than the registry. Do you have a back up? Most back ups will include AppData by default.

Thanks for that Richard. No, I didn't back-up the AppData folder if that's what you mean. DS is working fine after I got the workspace back to the way I like it.. It seemed strange that another program (PaintShop Pro) also behaved like DS and acted as if it had been freshly installed after the Win update.

Should I reguarlly back up the AppData folder for DS?

Yes, and not just for DS - a lot of applications store settings or even data (things like bookmarks or email) there.

I had the same thing happen to me as well in DS.  I lost my awesome custom layout and color theme :(

the latest windows update is reaking havok on applications that rely on the appdata folder. In my business it is causing major problems on high security applications that run on a windows platform.

Well I'm glad to see it's not just me having the this issue. Maybe as more people get the Win update there'll be more complaints from DS users.
