[-Solved-] Omnifreaker Uber Light Shaders - Do I need this? How will this work?
Like the headline says. What are those shaders? And how do they work?

I have always overlooked those. I thought they were made for DAZ Studio 3. But the Arealight, Spotlight and Pointlight Description says:
This Product has been updated to support DAZ Studio 4
While the Uberenvironment Description makes clear UE2 is the better thing. What about these Arealight Shaders updated for DAZ Studio 4? Will this enhance the Default Uberarea included in DAZ Studio?

Uberspot light gives you a new spotlight with more options than the default DS spotlight.
In the same way, Uberpoint light is a point light with more options than the default one.
AFAIK the version of UberArea light included in DS4 is the same as the one which was in DS3A, so there are still differences with the full product.
Thank you, Leana! Thats exactly what I wanted to know.
The name Light Shader is a bit confusing. :-)
Actually the DS4 area light is different from the stand-alone product. The oen in DS is a surface shader that you can apply to anything, the store item is a predefined flat plane or disc (I think) which can be used as a light source. You can pretty much match the separate item by applying the shader to a primitive.
That means the stand alone AreaLight is not an Add-On or enhancement for the Default DAZ Studio Area Light?
And only the UberSpotlight and UberPointlight are interesting products for DAZ Studio 4 Users?
Of those you list, yes. I think the uberSoft light kit was also updated, and that does something not covered by the default DS lights and shaders.
Thanks for the answers, Leana and Richard Haseltine!
The UberSpotlight and UberPointlight were the products I´m most interested in.
