How to merge to piece of cloth ?

Hello there.

I am selecting the collar, and the tie from a Daz3D product. They both have an armature for the model i'm using.
How can I merge them as a single object while keeping an armature correct ? Is there a way to just end up with a single prop, still following the model movements ?

Thanks !

I'd caution against it. Not only would you need to export them both and reimport them as one *.obj (AFAIK, that's the only way to merge objects) thus stripping them of all their Daz-specific properties, but the bowtie would also start following the figure's projection mapping, which is not how bowties work in reality. If a person wearing a bowtie turns their head, the bowtie does not begin to deform along with them.

Instead, I'd recommend using a Rigid Follow Node to keep the bowtie pinned to the collar without it following the figure's deformation.

You might need to convert it to an object and remove the armature first; I've never tried a Rigid Follow Node with a rigged accessory.

Won't grouping them work well enough for your purposes?
