Using Tools
Can anyone point me to a tutorial or thread that describes how to use tools such geometry editor? Is there a way to get the figure into wireframe and alter the geometry? I know there must be a step by step somewhere, but I can't find it. Thanks! :-)

I don't think the Geometry Editor does what you think it does. You cannot alter the Geometry inside DAZ Studio as far as I know, but you can select groups of Polygons, and assign them to a new group to create a new surface which can be selected in the Surfaces pane.
At the top of the Viewport, you can select to view by wireframe, the default is Texture Shaded, and there are various wireframe options.
To move vertices around, you would need a modelling program like Hexagon or Blender or similar.
I can't find any info on the Geometry Editor as such at the moment, but it used to be called the Polygon Group editor until recently. You will find it on the toolbar, or by using Alt+Shift+G, and going to Window > Panes (Tabs) > Tool Settings. The Tool Settings has all of the parameters that can be used. You can also right click in the viewport with the Geometry Editor tool selected to see the options.
You can also use Dformers to alter the geometry within DS, but only in so much as you can bend and twist it a bit, you can't actually add or remove points, and it really is only effective for organic deformations rather than hard surfaces.
