Lighting problem Daz-Reality 2-LuxRender

I have read some posts, as well as watched Reality2 introduction videos. I understand that light works different in Reality/lux. I just can't get the effects of moving around the "reality sun light source" to be seen in my daz viewport. Or in the renders for that matter.

i.e. if I place the sun to the left the shadow stays in the same spot...whereas it should have changed and no be going to the right.

I have skies of reality volume 2. and other than for a change in backdrop. I see no lighting changes in my viewport, or renders when I swap different sky packages

Do I still need to light my scene with Daz lighting? Then add a second layer of reality lights?

Once I hit realityrender and the reality interface comes up, I can go to the lights tabs, and adjust each source. Is their anyway of previewing
this effects of these adjustments before rendering?

Moving the Sun won't have any effect, because it's still facing the same direction. Think of the Sun as being infinitely far away and casting a light across the whole of the scene. It won't matter that you've moved it a few meters, or a few hundred meters, because the direction is still the same.

To change the shadows, you want to rotate the light instead. The best and easiest way to do this is to change the viewport to the 'Sun' by clicking the drop down where it usually says "Perspective View" and choosing your light. You will now be looking out in the same direction as the Sun, and any rotations made will also be translated to your lights. This is the same for all 'Distant' lights in Daz Studio as well.

The other issue however, I can't explain. Skies of Reality uses HDRI maps, so the lighting should be very different depending on which preset you use. It changes the hue of the lighting based on the HDRI used, giving the illusion of reflected light which can drastically change a scene. The only thing I can think is that the HDRI's aren't be loaded properly which may be causing some issues.

As for previews, no. Because Luxrender uses a very complex raytracing algorithm similar to real world lighting, it's quite difficult to preview. Mastering lighting in Luxrender is no easy task either, but practice makes perfect and once you've got a handle on the basics, the rest will fall easily into place.

I noticed that I had another in consistency. . . When I reality rendered... The camera in the reality interface had a different f-stop settings... However even when I correct these to match the Daz camera. The image is mega blurry... . If I sample render in Daz3d delight, I get a good image. . .

So the issue is not only light but focus related...

What is a good standard max sampling rate for an average image.

I'm away from computer at the moment but is there a chance... That the lux render has a different camera and light setting that screwing things up...

What basic steps in what order would you take to begin to solve this issue

If you have not read the "Reality User Guide" for Reality, it provides very useful information.
