Caustic Sampler With RTX3090 CRASHES DAZ 3D

This is for big scenes not scenes with just one model and an HDRi map

im amazed that this problem hasnt been fixed yet.

6 hour 8K Resolution city scene renderer with 6 characters and 18GB of GPU RAM used wasted here because the [] program rolled back to CPU renderer as soon as i checked the rendering window.

what happends is that the whole screen flashes then goes black and you loose the picture on your monitor.

to get the picture back you need to unplug and plug in the HDMI cable.

once the picture is back Daz 3D has gone back to CPU rendering and it will shut down if you press cancel on the rendering.

time to start using blender instead ;)

this program has become ancient.

One note here is that this is never a problem if you turn OFF Caustic Sampler

  • That does sound like a hardware or driver issue, perhaps triggered by a specific bug in Iray. You are asking quite a lot of the system.

I am once again having a problem with the Caustic Sampler On - On smaller renders, it works but I also have a RTX 3090 because I require large resolution.  Its likely that a driver update for the video card has broken it again, but it did work before.

If anybody knows of a fix, please throw it our way.
