How to create an alias of a property

I found an entry about this, but is solved and thus I cannot reply there anymore, so I had to create a new discussion. However, that was in 2013. The process described there was for an older version of DS. The process in V4.15 is similar, though:

  1. Go into the "Parameters" tab of the figure and select the property you want to make an alias from
  2. Right-click anywhere on the property and select "Edit Mode"
  3. Right-click again and select "Property Cloner..."
  4. Select the checkbox "Create as Alias" (otherwise it's going to be an individual copy)
  5. Under "Target Node" select the node you want the alias to be
  6. Click "Accept"

This will create an alias of that property within the Parameters tab, and those two will be synchronized. With a copy of that node, the two properties can be set individually (I wouldn't know the purpose of that).

However, the alias will not appear in the Posing tab under the same node. If anyone  knows how to get an alias in the same node but within the Posing tab, please let us know.

I just had an idea and that was the solution: in order to make that alias also appear within the Posing tab:

  1. Click on the little cogwheel of that alias and select "Parameter Settings"
  2. Under "Type" select "Modifyer/Pose"
  3. Click "Accept"

So, actually, this thread can be marked as solved as well :-)
