Creating Joints

Are there any tutorials or help in creating joints? Not editing but actually starting from the ground up to make joints or articulation points?
I'm trying to make a simple strap with multiple joints so I can adjust it to fit better.
Thanks,
Neal

I had pretty much the same question not that long ago. Maybe something in my thread can help you get started as there's a pretty nice little tutorial in there to get the basics real quick.

Clothing items are made somewhat differently and it does matter which program you are using, and for which figure.
Triax [i.e. for Genesis] or legacy [i.e. for M4] type rigging?
Program being used for rigging? D/S3, D/S4 or Poser?
Blondie9999 has two tutorials in the Daz shop which may help.

Thank you all three.
I'm not looking to make an article of clothing per se but a strip I can use for multiple purposes. Leather strap, ribbon material, shoe lace, belt, metal banding on a box. barrel, or door, rubber band, or something similar.
Maybe its out there and I just haven't found it yet.
Thanks again.
