DIM is your friend here.
Pam were is the DIM to download??? I can't find anything
Assuming you don't have a backup... after you get everything fixed, make a backup.
You can log in and download it all again. Chohole probably has the easiest solution of using DIM if you only have DAZ content. But before you do anything, is your hard drive still functional? If you really need to reset everything but have not yet done so, you could pull that hard drive out, put in a new drive and reinstall Windows on the new drive, then plug in the old drive a second drive to retrieve your data from. Obviously you can't just copy the entire drive over, but if you know where you installed your content, you can manually copy those folders only to retrieve just that. Your DAZ Studio database MIGHT be retrievable if you know how, or might not; using the old Valentina database I manually copied these files as a backup, although that's not how you are supposed to do it. Not sure about Hexagon or Carrara.
Sean ...I am lost on everything you said......my HD appears to be ok...I don't know for sure...I just set everything to the default state...that was my only option since..recovery did not work....so its like I just got it 2years ago..everything gone....so do I just go to the front page and DL studio again or do I go to my products page and try it from there??? and where do I get the DIM from...sorry to be so dumb...Trish
You can download DAZ Studio from your Product Library page on the DAZ website, yes. Type in "daz studio 4.6" in the filter field to find the most recent version (but of course you would also want all your plugins and content too), or "install manager" to find DIM (which can then be used to redownload and reinstall all your DAZ content, although you will have to do a few setup steps to get it running. DIM does have instructions documents somewhere too.)
EDITED TO ADD: Your product library page in your account on the DAZ Website should have nearly everything you got from them, however you might have a few older versions of applications and plugins you don't want (should be obvious from their names), and the most recent version of the application changes number periodically (which you don't care about right now), plus freebies from a LONG time ago that you did not get through the store will not be there. Everything else should be there though. If you decide to use DIM, you wouldn't need to download anything else from your product page though because you would be running DIM and downloading it through that.
DIM http://www.daz3d.com/install-manager-info
DS http://www.daz3d.com/products/daz-studio/daz-studio-what-is-daz-studio
Download and install DIM first then do DS through DIM and then your content
Bryce you will need to download manually, It comes with the old fashioned installers
Thank you both very much....Trish
