Unable to load .dsf files!!!! DX

So apparently this is a common occurrence, but could someone walk me through the process of fixing the "unable to locate .dsf file" issue? Currently my main 'Daz file' is a fold that I created on a peripheral hard drive. It has all my content and I'd like to keep it there.

    (1) How did you install, manually or via DIM
    (2) What are the paths DS has to content.

    The error is usually because the directory where the data folder is located is not available to DS but the corresponding content directories with .duf files are.
