Just a couple newb questions,

-1
Daz3d is free, correct? and the Genesis content that comes with it is free as well? I can use any of the images or videos I produce with it on my website, publish them, or sell them any way I wish?

-2

    Answer to question one

Images and videos yes that is fine. What is prohibited is using the mesh or parts of the mesh in any form where it can be extracted, ie games etc without the relevant licenses being purchased. Anything 2D however is yours to do what you will with it, as per the EULA.

If in doubt do review the EULA which can be accessed by clicking on "License Agreement" at the very bottom of the page, on the right, under the heading DAZ 3D.

Partial answer to question 2 Genesis and Genesis 2 Available as G2F and G2M (also free) can be modified by purchasing add on characters and morph packs.

    Check the Compatbility Matrix. http://www.daz3d.com/compatibility-matrix

You should buy characters with a six after them. Victoria 6 has the most characters for her but anyone with a six after the name is good. I wouldn't advise buying Victoria 4 or any other 5 and below unless the money you want to spend on them isn't really an issue. V4 and M4 have the most content and you will find the most free stuff across the internet for them, so that is a plus. There is a huge improvement from the 4 models (genesis base) to the 6 models (genesis 2 base) in life like appearance, better morphs, bends, and all that good stuff.

To expand on what's already been said, you're free to use any of your renders however you see fit. That can be short animations, feature length films, artwork or website imagery to list but a few. Any content which involves distributing the actual mesh is not allowed, such as creating your next Second Life avatar or character models for a video game (the latter possible via a Game License purchased separately).

Genesis 2 is arguably one of the better figures out there. All compatible clothing fits snugly to Genesis no matter how you morph the figure. So big or small, young or old you can be sure the outfit will scale to match. Genesis is also compatible with Genesis 1 products via the built-in autofit with a reasonably high degree of accuracy.

Also, because Genesis 2 has more polygons than its predecessor it's also a lot more expressive and detailed. There are even HD morphs which take advantage of this, giving you even greater levels of realism to your art.
