My Daz Library

Hello all,

Does the My Daz Library folder have to be in Public Documents? My C: drive is filling up and I would like to get an external HD and move it there. I thought it HAD to be there when I started using Daz3d.

Thanks!

Do you have more then one drive on your computer? I have 2 drives so all my external runtimes and my libraries are on the second drive, keeping the main drive relatively light. Of course you can also have a drive separate from the computer for this as well.

As for the program itself, it is best to have it on the main drive, though there are several threads about using externals for the program as well.

This video explains how to use a second drive to install content. He does explain it rather well.

This video explains how to install the program on an external drive.

I strongly suggest checking more threads here and in Commons and asking about this to make sure you have everything you need to know before attempting a different install.

Neither the location nor the name of the content directories are functionally significant (as long as they are valid and accessible, and as long as the installers and DS know about them).
