Batch changes

I am finding it frustrating that at present I seem to have to delete each individual element to hide/delete, everything except the head of a figure. Is there a way to highlight the parent and children and then hide them all at the same time, or is it a case of each having to be done separately, please?

In DAZ Studio? Use the Scene pane to expand (right-click) and multi-select (click first item, shift click last item) then if you want to hide the items use the Visible button in the Parameters pane, under the Display group (click Display on the left of the pane). You can also select a group of items and add them to a group (Create>New group) and hide them by clicking the eye icon for the group in the Scene pane.

    This doesn't work :(

Selecting multiple entries in the scene pane and clicking the Eye icon or Visibility in Parameters only toggles visibility for whichever you clicked on, regardless of children to the selection.

Adding to a group works though! I couldn't get bones inside Genesis2 to group properly, maybe I'm doing something wrong.

That is how it is supposed to work if you re-read the post above again.

You must SELECT each item that you want to become invisible, it does not work on unselected children.

If 'Display Separate Items' is active (in the parameter pane options), toggling the visibility in the parameters pane will not affect the selected children. Uncheck it and it should work.

This may be the single greatest bit of information ever provided on this forum!

Cool, thanks! Is there a similar option to get that behavior in the scene tab too?

Thanks for this. It does seem to work, although I am half asleep at the moment. Not easily found though, is it! It would be much easier if you could just highlight everything as shown and then simply hit the eye on one to hide them as a batch.
What is the real effect of 'display (or not) separate items'?

With ‘Display Separate Items’ on, you can have multiple objects/nodes/... in the parameters tab and make adjustments to them without having to (re)select them each time and browse through their parameters tree.

Afaik there's not a similar option in the scene tab.

Only discrete items can be grouped, you can't group some bones on a figure.
