DIM & WIN 8.1 question
Lately I've been having issues with my DIM and I'm curious if its occurring with anyone else or just another example of my stellar luck.
Since upgrading to Win 8.1, when I go to launch the application it either works or it doesn't. Sporadically when I attempt to start it instead of opening it just appears down on my task bar, but the window itself never appears..
Trying to alt tab to bring it up, or right clicking it in the task bar does nothing. If you hover over it as if you are going to switch panes you can see the application in the small preview box but cant manipulate it in anyway. I can't even close to attempt to launch it again; i have to use Task manager to force shut it down. Sometimes restarting the computer will get it running again but I've had to outright reinstall the darn thing at least once a week now to access it.
I'm having a hard time trouble shooting this because there is no conceivable pattern. Some days I can have 6 things running and it opens fine, other days i can have nothing running and it won't work. Running as admin doesn't affect it. I'm stumped.
Is anyone else having this issue and if so how were you able to fix it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Upgrade to Windows 7 ;)
On a serious note, That does sound really troublesome as to figuring out the cause.
Almost sounds like some file or instruction (maybe a dll call or something) is getting hung up and not processing. Have you looked into the event viewer for windows to see if maybe anything is showing up in there?
I actually did try running in in Win 7 compatibility mode, no dice. Trust me I'm no fan of Win 8. I'm hoping 10 has some better potential.
I actually just has a sort-of similar problem today with Daz itself. I was trying to load a pretty resource heavy scene through remote access and I kept having trouble getting it to load, ended up with an MS warning about low resources and it started closing stuff out.
Long story short, Some file, service or something Daz needed was either stuck or not running as just trying to open an empty/new scene left Daz hanging on the splash screen.
I really should have followed my own advice and checked the event logs. Since it was earlier today it'll be a little harder to find.
