Generational Nomenclature?

Is there an accepted nomenclature and abbreviations for the different "Generations" of figures?

With the words both "Generation" and "Genesis" it gets muddled..

So Gen1-4 for like Vicki 1-4?

G2F and G2M for Genesis 2...is there a combined, like G2*? Just G2? Does that get confused with Gen 2?

Genesis is what?

Thank you for the link, but less than what each figure is, but standardized forms of calling and abbreviating with the community. Is Gen 5 a common and understood way of referring to Genesis? Gen 6 for G2F and M?

We casually call them Gen 4 (V4, M4, etc.), G1 (Genesis) and G2 (Genesis 2 Male and Female).

DAZ themselves prefer Generation 4, Genesis, and Genesis 2 Male or Genesis 2 Female. I don't think enough people still use Poser's old G2 for there really to be confusion, but I'm guessing that's why.

No It's Genesis. Then you have V5, M5 etc in the genesis gene pool

Genesis 2 is either G2F or G2M and then you have V6 and M6 etc etc.

So Generation 4 figures were V4, M4 and so forth,

Genesis figures are the 5th generation and Genesis 2 figures are the 6th generation.
