Your content directory in Daz Studio is set to C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library.
By default the Install Manager should install content to C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library
Did you install DS and DIM with their default settings or did you change the directories ?
If it was a default install, change the path in the Content Directory Manager to C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library and i think you'll be fine.
If you chose a different directory for the content library, make sure that DIM is also configured to install in that directory.
I also strongly suggest to not have your content library in protected folders as 'Program Files', sooner or later this will get you into trouble. Only the software itself and it's plugins should be in 'Program Files'. User data (e.g. all content) should best be in a public folder.
Thank you.
First I run the default install routine. Because the data did not load I made a copy of content to C.
Now I changed like you suggested. But the data isnt´t loaded.
JS
Thanks for the explanation (DIM/DS)
I do not know where the smartcontenttab is. So I guess I took the content library tab.
It seems to me that nobody has any further idea what the problem is. Perhaps it could be the best desinstalling DAZ and reinstall it?!
Should I deinstall the DIM too?
Based on your screenshots, it appears that you're using the Smart Content pane (on your layout, it's called "Actors, Wardrobe, and Props.") The fact that Smart Content is empty is a problem, but in order to diagnose what exactly the problem is, and help you figure out how to solve it, we'd need to know whether the content shows up in the Content Library. Go to the Window menu and under Panes (Tabs), click on Content Library.
Check your firewall settings. I found that my firewall was blocking the port that the CMS (Content Management System which is the database for the content) was using. I ran it on 'Learning' mode and it flagged up anything that it was blocking. It showed that parts of the CMS had been blocked but once I had allowed them through the content appeared as it should.
Hi,
now I think I´m able to start working with DAZ. Thank you very much for that trouble shooting paper link.
My last question is: Should the content which is placed in the content library also be place in the SmartContent window under Files>Lights/Materials/Props/etc.pp ?

There are at least two ways of viewing your content inside DAZ Studio (DS), the Content Library pane, which lists all of your content as it appears on your HDD, and Smart Content, which ONLY displays items that are usable by the figure SELECTED in the Scene pane or viewport.
If you have Genesis loaded (and selected), then the idea of Smart Content is to list everything that is available for Genesis (NOT any other figure), and if nothing is selected, then ALL Smart Content will appear.
Most of the content that you will buy in the Store here, will have Smart Content associated with it, but not all by any means. The Content Library pane will display ALL content (assuming that it is installed correctly), no matter what is selected in the Scene pane.
Intresting reading about the firewall, i have been trying to get content into Daz 4.6 for months now, give up and come back to it a few weeks later when i have cooled down somewhat,
Seems to me everything i try it just doesn't want to know!
Where is your content installed to, and how did you install it, manually or using DIM (DAZ Install Manager)?
Do you have the paths to your content listed in Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, and do you have the path listed under BOTH DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats?
Are you looking in the Content Library pane, or Smart Content?
Hello Jimmy, My content is on my C drive which holds all my content when I' m using Daz 3, then i have an external drive with all the content on there to save space on the c drive, i manually install folders, as i can then place then in the correct paths i need to find them, it sounds a bit of a cock up, but its been working find for the last few years,
Ihave had 4.6 install few year or two! and never used it, as i was happy using normal V4, and didn't want to go down that road of Genesis 1-2 etc,
But this year i wanted to try doing some animation and Daz 4.6 was looking the easier to use in the way the timelines, poseing and the final render, which gave me how many render frames where being done and how many left, Daz 3 doesn't do this, and never know how long it will take,
I have a custom folder of figures/set i use in 3.00 and i added this in the Preferences} Content Library} , i have set up the sence using my figures from my custom folder and done the animation, its only when i wanted to load something new from the normal runtime folders that i found i had nothing there, so when back in to Preferences to add these to this, then back over to content tab to load them , now i had lost my custom folder, and that how its been every since, i tell it the path, accept/apply, go overto the content to load whatever, it shows me the folders, but there's never anything in them,
Sorry this was a fast reply, anyway i have it down for Daz and poser format pointing to my c drive and my external.

It isn't DAZ that is blocked by the firewall it is the Content Management Service (CMS) more specifically postgres.exe which is blocked from using an internal port to talk to DAZ and the database. It took me ages to find that out until I put Comodo firewall into training mode and it flashed up everything it was blocking and asked me how I wanted it to treat things e.g. block or allow. postgres.exe was blocked on several occasions before it settled down and I have had no more trouble with content showing up. At the moment with DAZ open I have seven processes for postgres.exe showing in the task manager connecting to the PostgeSQL server. If each process uses a different port then they have to be allowed through the firewall so they can access it. Whether that works for others I don't know but it sorted my problem.

The way that the path is listed in Content Directory Manager is important. It is also important where the Runtime folder is in relation to the other folders. What I mean by that, is that the folder called 'Runtime' that DS uses for Poser Format content, MUST be directly inside the main DS folder 'My DAZ 3D Library' or 'My Library' if you use that.
Whatever folder you use for DS and Poser content, it should be listed correctly, and the path should finish with the library name, whether for DS OR Poser content as shown below.
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library
Inside 'My DAZ 3D Library' (or 'My Library' if you use that), should be the Runtime folder. The Runtime folder should NOT be inside yet another folder called Content, and the path should NOT include the Runtime folder.
It would be most helpful if you could post a screenshot of your Content Directory Manager settings showing an expanded listeing of your paths for both DS and Poser, just to make sure that they are correct.
Just Posh is a texture set. To use the textures, you must own the Morphing Business Suit and (for some items) the MBS Expansion 1. These requirements are stated on the product page for Just Posh.
Edited to add: I just re-read the description for Just Posh, and it seems that in addition to textures for all the items from the two sets I mentioned above, it also includes a shirt (which presumably you can use even if you don't own the Morphing Business Suit). In your screenshot, if you click on "Shirts" in the list, what do you see?
Hi,
after restarting DAZ I do see "JustPosh" (see screenshot).
At "JustPosh" you can read (second screenshot). It´s compatible with Genesis. So I thought it´s the right product. Hmmm´´´grmpfl...
We'll point the compatibility issue out. In the meantime, assuming you don't want to buy the full suit, open a Sales support ticket to request a refund.
Thanks for your friendly offer.
Thought I could avoid boring questions (and my poor english) to community.
But I think my question to the DAZers is one that only can be answered by them. For example what I should do now with a purchased product (JustPosh) that I can´t use without an other product (MorphingSuit).
JS

Well that depends, do you think at some point you may buy the Morphing suit? then it might be ok just to leave it so that when you do pick up the morphing suit, you already have the add-on.
I've done that before and will be doing it again. Mostly because sometimes I don't have a lot of extra money to spend, so I get the cheaper add-ons so that later, when I do have a little extra, I can pick up the required items that cost a little more and suddenly I have a lot more to play with.
If you don't ever plan on getting the suit, then yes, a refund would be in order.

My english is pretty poor. What is DS and DIM?
DS = DAZ Studio DIM = DAZ Install Manager
When trouble shooting content problems be sure to use the Content Library tab not the Smart Content tab.

Hi,
I guess my fire wall settings do not block DAZ. (screenshot)

Is that what you need to see? (screenshot)
Thanks, JS
Ok - you mean that:
(Removed previous comment, since now see your Content Library in your screenshot)
You should be able to find some content listed in DAZ Studio Formats>My DAZ 3D Library*>People in the various subfolders
*This folder might be called something else, depending on your setup.
I think I´ve got it.
Thank you very much.
Best regards

Great! Now...if you see the content in the Content Library but it's still not showing up in Smart Content (Actors, Wardrobe, and Props), I'd recommend reading through this: https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/entries/22523891-Trouble-shooting-the-Smart-Content-Pane

thanks a lot for your post.
I guess the path to my daz library is correct: see screenshot.

You do not look only at the Additional Informations; you always have to look at the Required Products (see screenshot)
ok - how do I open a Sales support ticket? Didn´t found something with the search function.

Scroll right down to the bottom of the page and click on "Contact Us" under the Heading "Help"
You would be much quicker asking your questions here?
It may take Support several days to answer.
