To move the content map!
Hi!
I am not talking about moving the folders that contain the DAZ software but I wonder if someone know if it is a good idea to move my DAZ content folders from my C drive to another hard disk. My C drive is pretty full now and I feel that I take a risk having the content there if a crash occures.
The folders are located at C:\users\public_documents\My DAZ 3D Library and at C:\users\public_documents\DAZ 3D
When I ask if it is a good idea I also mean if it is complicated for DAZ to find these content folders again. If DAZ isn´t intelligent enough to just accept a new location for these both folders I am in deep trouble. Can´t even think about the time it will take if the program want you to locate hundreds of items one by one!
Please give me some good news please!

Yes you can move it. Just make sure you add that location to your content directory within DAZ Studio
It is pretty simple to do. I recently migrated my content to an external hd:
Open the IM
in the top right corner click the cog to open settings
navigate to the installation tab
bottom left corner of that click the plus sign to add a new install path. You'll need to make a content/library folder to point it to.
Once you've made your new destination path highlight it from the menu and then above it and a little to the right check off the box for install to selected path, hit the accept button, and yer done.

No Prob, I did forget to mention you'll need to go into your Daz studio settings and map it to the new content directory as well. Otherwise you'll panic when it comes up empty.
