Making multiple objects invisible

When I make a scene I often want to make multiple different renders and combine them in photoshop. I find it quite tedious to click on the eye in the scene tab to make objects I don't want to use, invisible, or make invisible under the parameters tab. Is there a faster and smarter way of accomplishing this?

It would be great if I could make the opposite, and make everything invisible with a click and then choose the few objects I want to use in that particular render.

Anyone who has a solution or an idea?

You could go to Shader Tab, highlight multiple objects (by holding Control while clicking) and set opacity to 0%.

Better to select all of the items you want to hide, then use the Visible button in the Parameters pane. Making items transparent doesn't stop the renderer including them in calculations, and may leave visible effects depending on surface settings.
