DAZ Studio Won't Start: 0033:0000000000000000

Hi Folks,
DAZ Studio stopped working yesterday. During initialization, it doesn't open and displays an error window saying "DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION at 0033:0000000000000000". I've been searching the forums and can't find a fix to this specific error code. I sent it to tech support but got a response that I might hear back in 4-6 weeks(!) and have pressing deadlines now.
The machine is a Dell Precision 5530 laptop with Windows 10 x64 and NVIDIA Quadro P2000 card.
Here's what I've tried to fix the issue:
- Tried rolling back the Windows updates and restarting, no luck
- Tried updating the NVIDIA drivers from their website and restarting, no luck
- Tried uninstalling/reinstalling all DAZ products, tried using the new DazCentral app and restarting, no luck
- Tried figuring out Windows Defender/Security settings based on another post, everything looks correct and has no change
cloudLog Entry - I recently updated my password but works on other DAZ logins

2021-01-28T19:17:06Z Server did not accept username/password
2021-01-28T19:18:14Z Shutdown
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

Sounds like maybe the ownership of a file or directory that DAZ Studio is using has changed. Did you do a manual upgrade of DAZ Studio as "Administrator" and are running as a normal user now? Did you tighten the file system security in Windows 10 manually in the Windows 10 Settings sections?
There is this error message from a DAZ Studio user in 2015 that hinted it has something to do with a permission problem reading a file from disk.

Thanks for the reply, nonesuch00. Some more info:
I've been on tech support calls for hours with Microsoft and Dell. I've been able to isolate it to only happening when the USB-C dock with two HD screens is connected. If I disconnect the dock and/or run the external screens over the onboard HDMI port, I don't get the DAZ error, it runs fine. I'm thinking it's a Windows 10, Intel Thunderbolt or Intel UHD/Iris graphics driver issue.
Maybe the changes in the security settings also involved access on the USB ports being tightened.
If you have the feature turned on you can roll back the driver/Windows changes to prior versions. Don't try to upgrade those again though until, say, 6 months or so to give them plenty of time to fix their bug.
You just gave me the solution. I don't know why Dell/Microsoft didn't tell you as much. That's not something DAZ 3D can fix but it must be a driver fix by Intel or the USB driver maker. You might manually upgrade the motherboard, usb, and GPU drivers all on Intel's site to the latest released. Before you do that don't those drivers for last year as well to the last versions you remember working to switch if the newest ones don't work.
You might want to file a formal bug report with Dell & Microsoft as well for you particular problem so the problem with get elevated to a higher livel of technical support.
I've found that if I unplug the USB dock, start DAZ3d, then plug the USB dock back in, everything works. It is very annoying, but at least you are back in business.
Yes, same issue here (on 4.15) for an installation that worked before. In my case, the reason is that the laptop is attached to a docking station (Plugable USB 3.0). D|S starts normally when the laptop is detached; it crashes when starting while attached.
As a (somewhat cumbersome) workaround, I detach the docking station, start D|S, then re-attach it.
