The case of the vanishing morphs
Hi all,
I've just invested in a fast PC to run DAZ 3D and it was definately worth it but I have a minor bug... Well quite a big one actually and it's this.
I relocated everything to the new PC by downloading everything I've bought so far and the 64bit version of Daz using the download manager. It all seems good and then I transferred existing scenes and characters into a directory where I keep stuff anyway, that was a straight forward 'transplant'.
The issue I'm having is with some of the clothing that characters wore in their subsets.
Morphs I had used to make some clothing fit my characters aren't appearing in the parameters as they did on my other installation. So if I want to put these items on new characters, I can't adjust them to fit as I could before nor can I adjust them on the existing characters.
I'm sure this is a directory thing, the clothing is 'Cosmopolitan girl suit' for a V4.2 character and it was all fine on my old installation.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
G

I haven't used V4 much recently, but it seems like there used to be a batch file that you had to run after installation. I don't know if that is still true with the DIM installer or not. Does that sound familiar to you? I hope someone more knowledgeable about this comes along to help. If you search, you may find other threads about moving content to a new computer. I recommend a Google search, because the forum search capability is very weak.
DZCreateExPFiles-V4.bat is the batch file. This adds the channels to the base V4 figure in order for the morph injections to work
A DIM installation does run this automatically, The morph files need to go in the same runtime as the V4 base files..
Thanks for that,
The files all seem to be in the same place, ie public documents / my daz3d library / runtime / libraries. The .bat fil is in the !daz folder under libraries.
There's definately a problem though as I can't find faceshop though it is installed it doesn't come up where it should and niether does 'lipsinc'.
The solution is either gonna be blindingly obvious or utterly elusive.

In DS, can you go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand the "DAZ Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats", and post a screenshot?
And this is why the /data/ folder is important — the actual morph files for your clothes will have been saved into your old /data/ folder when you saved the clothes as part of a scene. They won't exist in your new /data/ folder.
