Rendering Dragon 3

When I render on setting 3 I usually get an error message. When I render on setting 4 I get what looks like a wooden "thorn" dragon with a pushed in face and no eyes.

Any ideas if it is a legitimate error in program like a bug or a setting on my comp?

Thanks,

Neal

The distorted dragon sounds like displacement settings - have you scaled the figure down at all?

Yes I have scaled it down quite a bit. Is there a fix?

    Thank you,

I just tried the render with a larger model....it worked fine. Still gotta figure out how to do it with a smaller model.

    Thanks again,

Yes, you need to go into the surfaces pane and adjust the minimum and maximum values for displacement to reflect the reduced scale - you can do maths so type / 2 after the current value if you've halved the size, or / 10 if you've reduced it to a tenth.

I thank you again. Using the "/x" helped quite a bit. Then I used the slider to clean it up.
Sorry to be such a bother but I have NO idea what I'm doing and am learning as I go.

    Many many many thanks,

    Neal
