Smart Content is gone

Since I downloaded DAZ Studio 4.6.3.52 my Smart Content has disappeared. I can live with that but what is more serious is that when I save a clothing item as SupportAsset Figure/Prop/Asset, the various choices for "Set Content Type" never come up and likewise "Set compatible with" is empty. How important is it that those fields are filled in? And how can I make the premade list of choices come back? I have checked that the contentmanager is running.

Did you install the Content Manager Update to Postgres or are you still running Valentina CMS?

I am quite willing to start from new. But even after a complete uninstall of everything and cleaning the registry the program still finds my old installation settings somehow. What is needed is a program that completly clean the computer from everything Daz so you can start from a virgin state!

What I have now is a clean install (DAZStudio_4.6.3.52_Win64) and a new Main library with a name I never used before with only the GenesisStarterEssentials installed. But still smart content and product categories etc are missing. Whether the Daz Content Manager Service is running or not have no significance.

Shall I install postgreSQl? Is "installing Content Manager Update to Postgres" the same as running DAZPostgresqlCMS_9.3.4.exe?

Well, I exported the user data and installed postgreSQL.
Now, in my CMS Settings in Preferences I have
Cluster Directory: C:\users/Appdata/Roaming/DAZ 3D/cms
Port:17237

But the logfile in that directory says:

LOG: test message did not get through on socket for statistics collector
LOG: trying another address for the statistics collector

postgres cannot access the server configuration file
"C:/Users//AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/cms/ContentCluster/postgresql.conf":
No such file or directory

And indeed there is no file postgresql.conf. And of course. Smart content is still not working or anythin else
that has connection with the CMS.

Are you using ZoneAlarm as your firewall? That is known not to work with PostgreSQL.

The Update to PostgreSQL is not PostgreSQL, it a tool for converting your daatbase from Valentina to PostgreSQL and should be run after installing the actual PostgreSQL database engine.

Well thank you Richard as usual you give me a hint in the right direction. I am not using Zonealarm but my Window 8.1 intrisic firewall may still be the culprit. I will make another try. And where can the tool for converting your database from Valentina to PostgreSQL be downloaded?

The converter should be listed in the Install Manager.

Disabling the firewall didn't help so I am leaving this for now. After all my partner can resave the cloth items and set category so I am not in an impossible situation. Thanks again for trying to help, it is much appreciated.
