Ellie Hair for Genesis 8 Females - Ear Poke Through

I just bought Ellie Hair for Genesis 8 Females and it looks great, but my orc ears are making this weird mold on the hair instead of just poking through it like normal hair. I don't think a push modifier would help this. Is there something else that I could do to fix this?
