Turning off View Translate?

I'm not sure how to describe it. Is there a way to disable when you click on a figure's limb and accidentally pull the mouse a little, which will pull the figure in that direction, into a pose that you don't want? I just want to click a figure and want it to remain where it is.

You can change the "Node Selection Mode" to "Root Node First" or "Root Only" so that the particular bone isn't selected at the time of the accidental mouse move. It doesn't turn off the translation, but if you do move the mouse, the whole figure moves as is, no mis-posing.

You can find it under Tool Settings for any of the transform tools (Universal, Translate, Rotate, Scale) or Node Selection Tool. Root Node Only won't let you select bones in the viewport, but you can in the scene tab. Root Node First works pretty much how it sounds. The root node is selected the first time you click on a figure, then selects the bone you click on next.
