Lost Newbee

I just down loaded a bunch of goodies from Renderosity for my newly acquired Daz. freebie unit. I unzipped everything and put it into the My Library file, then loaded it into the content management thingy. I thought the content manager would take care of putting everything into the library section of Daz. Wrong. The wretched thing ate my file and went to sleep. How do you get imported stuff into the Daz library.
Many thanks in advance for any help anybody can extend to a greeny.

well to start with, Never install anything with Daz Studio running. It turns the CMS thing (Content Management Service) into a pretzel.
Allot of stuff is for Poser, Not Daz Studio. That is something to keep in mind when garbing stuff around the net, including here at daz3d. I have yet to figure out what I'm going to do with Cloud City for Bryce, I only have Daz Studio, lol.
With that in mind, check out Wilmaps tutorial on installing stuff... it is not that difficult. just easy to get confused at times.

I agree with what zarcondeegrissom wrote (including the recommendation of Wilmap's tutorial--check out her freebies too...), but to clarify, most (though not all) Poser content will also work in DAZ Studio, but might need some adjustment of materials settings to look its best.
When I get things from Rendo I manually unzip and put them in the folders where they belong, and have never had a problem. It helps to remember where you put them though :) I've found the Rendo vendors are usually good at putting the Genesis people under People, etc, and and it's easy to find them. Have you tried re-doing it, and any luck?
