DS4.6 running very slow

I have recently re installed a clean version of the latest version of Mavericks OSX 10.9.5 to my mac. This was prompted in part because i was finding DS was running extremely slow and i hoped this would resolve the issue. I now find that while everything else seems to be working fine, DS still is very slow. There was a time, no longer i add, when i was using Reality and the time it took to render anything became annoying, so much so that i stopped using Reality. Back then i decided to install more ram and now have 16 GB of ram, sp plenty i would have thought.
The slow down seems to have been recent, can't actually pin it down to a specific date though. It has now reached the point where i am seriously frustrated and wondered could anyone offer a solution.
Below are the stats for my machine and the DS version i have

Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac12,2
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 2.7 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 16 GB
Boot ROM Version: IM121.0047.B1E
SMC Version (system): 1.72f2
Serial Number (system): C02H93HXDHJP
Hardware UUID: DF484AB5-A3C5-55FF-82F1-46332E33E148

Daz version 4.6.3.52 Pro 64 bit for Mac

Thank you for any help or advice

Hello, when you say slow, is that slow over all, slow in the viewport, when browsing content?

For the Viewport there is a setting in the prefspane to look at.

I have no idea how this happened, i don't recall doing anything to cause it but who knows, something obviously did. The display Opt. was set to none! Setting it to best solved the problem that has been causing me grief for hours. Thank you so much...

The setting came in 4.6 and default is none AFAIK, as it can cause crashes on slower video cards.
    Glad it was that simple.
