Nails loading white and unable to change their color

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this but I wasn't quite sure where else to put it.

I'm having issues with nails loading strangely. I have tried to apply different nail colors from packages and from surfaces and nothing seems to fix it.  I've had this issue now on 3 different characters.

I'll attach some screen shots. This is on Melya for G8F, but again, I have had this issue on all figures I've tried to use today. I'm using Iray. One image is what it looks like rendered, the other is showing what it looks like in preview and shows I tried to change the color to orange. I'm just not sure what's going on.

I hope someone can offer some help. Thank you!

    Try lowering the Translucency setting.

I tried that and it didn't work. I'm not sure what's going on but I've messed with every dial in the surfaces interface and it just doesn't work :(

  • Are these different presets, each going with the matching character, or the same preset used with several different characters?

  • Its hard to tell since it looks like you have 2 different surfaces selected and we can't see all of the individual surface settings for each surface. One of the things I would check is if there's a geometry shell being used on the character for the fingernails since some products might use them in conjunction with cutout opacity maps. Whatever it is, it looks like there's a white surface(or surface setting(s) ) on top of the glittery orange texture(like as if its either another surface on top of it or part of that surface with the white color effect being applied using a weight-map(commonly black & white JPGs or PNGs).

I've tried both presets from the character's package and other Iray  nail presets, and changing the color myself and get the same results not matter what I do.

I think you might be on to something. I was using a geoshell with all 3 figures today. I will have to check and see if the nail opacity was turned down. I didn't even think of that so thank you, I suspect this is the issue!

Well i feel like a dummy. magog_a4eb71ab was right, it was from the geoshell.

Thanks so much because I just couldn't figure out what was going on.
