confused, can you all help??
Is this program a toy for hobbiest? Because , I see this program as a waste of time and money if you can't use what you buy in a game or use it to make posters or videos for a project.....
Can any of you tell me why this program is used? Posters for grandma or pictures for the kids??

Yes, hobbyists definitely use it, in addition to professionals. Your question has different answers so far as using it in games vs posters. One is just flat art, aka the posters are 2D and printable whereas the game may require a license. Several of the vendors have a license available. Someone with more knowledge about that can help you. But for the first part, if you render a scene using DAZ products, you can use that for your own enjoyment or professionally, no license required.
And welcome to the forums btw! If you get stuck while using DAZ, you're in the right place to ask questions.
Games involving 3D models within the game need additional licensing. Rendered 2D images, videos and sprite sets don't. That said, this is primarily a tool for creating images and final renders, not a game development tool. If that isn't what you need then don't use it - but don't scorn those with other priorities.
I wasn't Scorning :/ This company does not explain itself very well and it annoys me when company's do that...I was excited thinking this was like TurboSquid but saw *IN THE FORUM* that you cant use the stuff you buy....
now the free use of the 2d scenes are nice i guess....
Put a clearer useage of this on the homepage of the site.....
As was mentioned, it depends on the type of game you want to use this for.
I'm creating an isometric 3d game (think Nintendo/super Nintendo 3d games like Zelda or final fantasy) all the graphics are animated 2d but at an angle to give it a 3d feel. No license is needed for this, or platformer type games.
If you wish to put an actual 3d model in a game (such as call of duty or an mmo) then a separate license is needed but completely do-able. (not all vendors offer a license for this, but those that do have plenty of items you should be able to get just about everything you need)
thanks Kaotkbliss...Im doing a full 3d game...

This is explained in the EULA you agree to before you make your first download, and you can refer back to the EULA from every page of the forum, by scrolling to the very bottom and click on "License Agreement"
