Using 3rd Party CGTrader content in Daz

Hello and good morning today! I would like to use this item in Daz Studio: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/exterior/cityscape/mega-monolithic-structures As you can see, it comes in OBJ format as well as in a variety of others, excluding Daz Studio. I have imported the OBJ into Daz Studio, but I am not sure how to assign the texture materials to it. In the description, the author says: 'METAL, GLASS and WALLS have been UV seperated and grouped correctly for quick re-texturing with sample textures provided'. Does this mean I will need to assign my own shaders and textures?

It comes with an OBJ and an MTL file according to that page.  When you import an OBJ there's an option to apply the MTL file.  Did you do that?

When you select the item in DS, then navigate to the surfaces tab and from there you will see all the slots and parameters for the textures and shaders. You can then apply whatever textures you have to the correct slots. keep in mind that since it isn't native IRAY, you will need to apply the default iRAY uber shader to it before doing anything else.

i thought imported objs have the native uber shader applied anyway...

In my experience DS applies the Iray shader to OBJs by default when importing with MTL material settings, so that shouldn't be necessary.

Maybe so, but in my experience there have been times I couldn't apply Iray shaders till I applied the Uber shader first, so I just do it first thing since I have it saved in the scripts drop down and it takes a few seconds to apply. Better to mention it in case the user can't figure out why the shaders are not applying.

I will try them both. I did not know about Iray Uber Shader either. It sounds like a good habit.
