After the installer finished, I clicked on the Daz icon. The program loaded but doesn't show on my computer monitor. My Task Manager says it's running but there is nothing on the screen. Help!
What version of DAZ Studio, and what are your machine specs, particularly the graphics card (or chip)? Make sure that you are using a card with OpenGL 1.3 or better.
Have you tried ending the process, and restarting DAZ Studio again. If that fails, then you should try a reinstall. Did you use the DIM (DAZ Install Manager) to install DAZ Studio, and did you install the content as well?
I downloaded the latest version of DAZ Studio using the DIM. The content was installed as well. My graphics card is a GeForce GT620 using an Nvidia chip. It is supposedly compatible with OpenGL 4.2. I'm also using a Dell S2440L monitor. When I hover the mouse over the icon on the Taskbar, DAZ shows as loaded and running. It simply doesn't show on the screen. Very frustrating. I'm thankful for any help with this.
If you have NVIDIA Control Panel installed, you can set which graphics card particular programs use, in case the default is the Intel chip. You might want to check the NVIDIA website for updated drivers, as the ones which ship with Windows are often older.
The other possibility is that there's a Windows UAC dialog which is hidden somewhere waiting for a response.
I've done the Nvidia Control Panel and set the graphics card to Nvidia. Nothing. I've got the latest drivers. I've disabled the Intel driver. I can't think of anything else to do ... so, I've installed the program on an older Win7 computer and it runs like a champ. Slow, but running. Sigh.
On my Win8 PC I waited about 5 minutes. On my Win7 PC it comes up almost immediately. My wife reminded me that I had the same problem with our tax software leading me to suspect a Windows problem. More research.

Note that this is the maximum version your card's hardware can support. The graphics driver program that controls how your card interfaces with your monitor might support a lower version; I have an older NVidia card, and it did take a while for the driver updates to "catch up" with the card's full OpenGL spec.
I GOT IT! My video card thought I had two monitors and was sending the program to the non-existent screen. Bah! Can't believe it took me this long to figure it out. I must be getting old.

What Operating System? Does your computer have dual graphics (NVIDIA card plus onboard Intel chip)?
I'm running Windows 8.1. I do have dual graphics with the Nvidia card and an Intel chip.

How long did you wait? On my older PC it takes a minute or 2 to start up so you wont see the splash screen for a while.

Have you tried running in Compatibility Mode?
Yes I did. I also ran Microsoft's compatibility checker with no results.
