anyone elese have the same problem?
it cant even show an iray preview with the GPU
falls back to CPU all the time or if it doesnt it just crashes the program.
i have the newest 4.15 Daz 3d beta and the newest Nvidia drivers 461.09
one note is that these ultra scenes worked with my old RTX2080
Edit: its the huge amount of instances that is the problem here.

Double check your Render Settings for Instancing Optimization. Maybe it got set back to Speed. Change it to Memory. The first post of the UltraScenery commercial thread (where you also posted) has some problem solving tips. Check those out, too.
ok thanks
i have optimization set to auto
i check that thread
Auto usually works, but you could try setting it specifically to Memory. By the way, Iray Preview won't respect that Instancing Optimization settings. Instancing Optimization settings only seem to affect "real" rendering.
I tested with Instancing Optimization set to Memory but Daz 3D refuses to use the RTX3090
So for now the RTX3090 is useless for Ultra scenery landscape system.
i post an preview of the scene
the CPU was used here to build up the preview
I don't have a 3090, or even an RTX card of any kind. Mine is an old 980Ti, so I don't know what could be wrong. Hopefully another used will have a suggestion. Are there any relevant messages in the Daz Studio log file? Can you render a simpler scene that is just UltraScenery by itself?
Yes I am having the same issue. I also have the GTX3090. With just the scenery, I can get it to show up in the viewport, but then everything is frozen, nothing else works so I cannot even hit the render button to see if it would render. If I put a gen8 character in the scene, it crashes. Optimization is set to Memory, but I never get to the render so that really does not come into play. GPU memory shouldn't be a issue if people are making it work with a smaller card. I'm stumped. Found one error in the log, but it was dealing with the cloud. Hmmm, I was using Dreamlight for the light, I guess I will start digging around there next.
"Newest Nvidia drivers"???
Nevermind... What's the point of digging up these old threads?
Sounds like a system RAM issue to me. A good rule of thumb is to have 3 times the system RAM as GPU memory. For a 3090 that's a lot of system RAM.
