Howdy

Hi There,
I'm Jimbo. A coder and wannabe game developer. I found the Daz 3D site, I am not sure how, and started tinkering away in the hope of developing some game characters. Got a bit crazy and spent some loot on some of these brilliant artist products. Now I can't take my headphones off, I stopped coding and started tinkering.
I would like to know where to find out where to get some tutorial vids. Seems Lynda and MacProVid haven't caught on yet.
Looking forward to meeting some of you on here. So Hi and Bye from me.
Oh, and here's one of my first scenes inspired be a great sci fi show. I've called it Boomer on Boomer!

If you make your own characters (model everything in your 3D program), that should be fine, but keep in mind that to utilize anything from DAZ, you would need additional game licenses (you can search for that in the store). There are two types of licenses; you can read what each one is on the individual license purchase pages. You can also use renders of sprites, animations, etc and use those without a game license.
1) DAZ has a separate license that covers the models it has made (or has bought out). These are known as DAZ Originals (or DAZ Os). Under Shop, above, you'll find a listing for DAZ Os.
2) Anything other than a DAZ O is done by one of our PAs (Published Artist) and these artists may or may not sell licenses for their items and can have terms different than those governing the use of those covered by the DAZ Gaming License.
3) You must take care because the license will be specific as to what is licensed. For example, a PA has a license for a dress they have made, but the model wearing the dress in the product promos is Victoria 6. To be able to use both the dress and Victoria 6 would require two separate licenses.
Thanks Cris,
This some really good info. I hope I can get beyond tinkering one day.
But for the moment I am just learning the software. No plans to publish anything yet.
Can I ask? How does this affect posting the image here for example?
I look forward to getting to know everyone.
Many thanks
You can do whatever you like with the rendered images or animations.
