In its web-conference today the developers of Poser demonstrated an impressive live mocap capture of the host in real time using an Xbox Kinect they rigged to the laptop serving the conference. Scene Merge, Texture Atlas and Decimate, FBX export and other DS feature equivalents were also demonstrated. In addition they announced that the current shipping version of Poser Pro 2014 and beyond will include perpetual 3d publishing (game) license of ALL Smith Micro content - not just what shipped!

I guess Smith Micro recognizes that the next big wave is real-time 3d publishing. Sure this years "iWatch is a yawn - but next few years it's the HoloWatch. You just wait and remember you read it here.

Whipped this up with this with it already: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N2lB7-RVIM

Wow! You mean with the PP2014 GAME DEV,
The "kinect sensor" Xbox will work?
    Or get it wrong?
If it's right, then it's the answer I was looking for

I wonder whether somebody ar RoosterTeeth convince them to license their back-stock for games. RT know their games, and they certainly uses enough SM stuff in RWBY... (Someone from DAZ3D marketing really should be talking with RT to get the same exposure.)

Yes - it works, The official response is that Windows Kinect is required, they explained there is no significant technical barrier to overcome with the Xbox version other than the need to buy a power plug adapter. With the Xbox camera you need to remain perpendicular to camera for best capture. I do have a Windows version that I picked up at the Microsoft boutique, still in stock.
