Change Visibility Multiple Items At Once ?

So, I'm finding if say, I want the right foot to be invisible, I need to check the eyeball for the foot, the toes, and each indiual joint down the line.

Clearly I'm doing something wrong because no one in 2014 would actually have an interface where you can select multiple items at once (which Daz does) and not apply a change to all selected at once.

So, how do I actually vis/unvis a whole group?

Select all the items you want, then go to the Parameters pane and click "Visible in Render' to Off.

    Thanks.

I really wish things were more intuitive. Selecting all in the scenes tab, click the eye on one should really do it. That's how changes in everything from Word to Photoshop work. Selecting-go to different tab- select all again and flip switch....That's just inefficient.. ce la vie..

You could create a custom action and have a keyboard shortcut or a toolbar icon to do it.

The trick I usually use is to put the items in a Group, then you can tick that group on or off.

I'll have to look up custom actions and grouping, thanks.

  • I might note that, here, over eight years later, this simple interface adjustment has still not been noticed by the developers; indeed, as noted above, Photoshop, Inkscape, Illustrator, GIMP all let you multi-select objects and then click once to vis/unvis them.  Having to go into the parameters pane is an extra step that should not be needed.
