I don't have any examples to point at, but thought that at some point in the past I did find some things that were only in the Poser format and not in the corresponding matching DS format. Similarly, there might be older obsolete DAZ Studio formats that don't work in newer versions where you might need the Poser files, although perhaps that was a temporary thing that will be or already has been fixed with product updates?

If you are only using DAZ Studio, you do not need Poser Companion Files (PoserCF)
If you are using DIM (DAZ Install Manager), you can set a filter so that you only download the files that you need.

If they're PoserCF's (as opposed to Poser versions, and as opposed to StudioCF's) you don't need them in DS.
