Weight gradient is gone

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but whenever I go into weight painting, instead of seeing a weight gradient blue to red, I just see red fading into transparency and I cant change it. I follow tutorials to the tee, but nothing. Does anyone know why? Back in Gen 3's time I'm pretty sure I had the usual gradient weight displays when I was doing this.

    That looks OK, and works for me with those optins selected. I don't know why it would fail - is this happening regardless of the figure you are working on?

    Yes, I've tried to work with weights on Genesis 8 and 3 instead of any of my own figures. It's the same story. sad

    I feel obliged to update this thread since the problem has been solved by eradicating the version 4.12 from my computer (running ccleaner and manually cleaning Daz registries) and switcing to 4.14

    If anyone has the same problem, this might help.
