DIM not uninstalling files even after editing manifests

I have a weird issue... a while ago I performed a migration of my content library to an SSD, and I didn't notice that it broke my older manifest files. Ooops.

Anyway, the problem I have right now is that even if I batch-edit my manifest files to point at the right directory, uninstalling a product does not result in the files being deleted. I have to re-download the product, and uninstall it again in order for the files to be removed.

I double-checked the manifest files prior to the first and second uninstalls and they both point to the same path for my content library. I have no idea what the issue can be here...

Make sure the install path in the manifest files uses forward slashes instead of backslashes.

After editing the manifests, in DIM go to Advanced Settings > Installation tab, right-click on the (new) content library, and choose "Fix Installed File Registry" before uninstalling.

Yeah, I have forward slashes and all. I tried fixing the File Registry but I have an even worse problem now: uninstalling a product and refreshing the library doesn't work, but reinstalling and uninstalling results in a product still existing in Smart Content -- but with broken links inside the product.

I'm thinking I should just move everything directly over to Smart Content then completely wiping my DIM content library. That would solve a lot of headaches... Having said that, I don't actually have the drive space to do it...

edit: I fixed the broken links from appearing, but I'm still working on why I need to uninstall twice... edit2: I think I solved the issue. I checked the log files and noticed that there was an error message with reading the Metadata. I re-imported the metadata and it magically solved it, although I have no idea why the metadata would be affecting the uninstallation...
