3rd Part Content Metadata for character and Morphs

I own poser 11 and Poser Debunt  and was trying to get La Femme to show up in the smart tab, I got it more or less to work but I messed up on the Compatbility part and now I cannot delete them. every time I do it comes back, I have tried everything from deleteing the figure and reimporting metadata, I delted the Root Compatabailty but still it shows up and each time I add something it gets bigger. I am trying to get custom morphs, clothing, and materials to show up in the smart content for each character I add. if I have a character that has clothing and that clothing has materials and that character has morphs and materials as well how do I get it to show up in the smart pannel. its been a week of just trail and error and most of the time people just go over just drag and drop it and your done but that doesnt work for morphs or shaping. any help of links to documentaiton and videos that goes over this would be amazing.

  • I didn't think LaFemme worked in DS. I'm not quite clear on what you have done so far - if you Edit metadata via right-click how is the product set up?

  • after I delelte the different meta data for compatablity when I reimport metadata it comes back

  • when making clothing added the compabablity to the model but old metadata came back and when I seleted the model it wouldnt appear

    Poser weight mapped figures won’t work properly in DS. You could get them to show in your library but they’ll load with tons of errors and will usually distort badly when you pose them.

    seem like everyone on here hates trying to get old content to work in daz even on the discord I dont get it. has anyone played with the metadata content editor? has anyone tried to get 3rd part shaping or morphs to work using the metadata editor so it appears in the smart content? ok forget LaFemme I could mimic the same error with a genesis 8 character , if you add more compabablity metadata you cannot delete it...has anyone figured out how to do this. I even downloed a morph for genesis 8 and I couldnt get it to apear in the smart pannel without added correct metadata so how about that sense everyone gets super derailed as soon as you bring up your using older content. I have gotten content from poser 4 to work in daz I can even download clothing form the time and add it, I got M1 and old character to show up in the smart pannel by added metadata but dont know how to assisocate the clothing for those character so when you click on the character it will show "wardrobe" option and when you click on that clothing it will have the "material option" or "Shaping" for the figure. I thought coming here there would be some people who like using content they have paid for in the past and using the system currently in daz to get it to work without having to go through the content broswer each time you want to add some clothing.

    I've created products for third-party content succcessfully, and not had any issues deleting the metadata (since I usually miss a step first time through and have to redo this is something that gets tested).

    what kind of morph are you having issues with? If it's just a .dsf file in the /data/ folder it won't show in Smart Content - that needs at least one, categorised, user-facing file in the product.

  • I had issues of https://www.renderosity.com/rr/mod/freestuff/christmas-elf-ears-g8f/87115 showing up in my daz content. I use a secondary directory I could find it in the content dir but it wouldnt show up in the shaping menu. im just frustrated that the information on how to use the content database is not super easy to find. I would pay for a tut series that would go over the process of adding a character and added the clothing and materials to the clothing and if you have morphs and shaping how you orginize those as well. I want to be able to find 99% of the content in the smart content and export to blender to rig and render. have an idea for a character looks at what I have poser or daz make it and send it out. thank you to all who have been helping me up to this point. if I ever figure it out ill try and make a youtube video on the process.

  • Where is it in the content pane? If you can see \data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\TwiztedMetal\Xmas Free Ears\ in the Content Library pane then the files are not installed correctly - the Data folder merges with the Data folder in the root of your content directory (e.g. the My Library folder) where it will be hidden in the content panes but will add sliders to the figure's parameters.
