Metada Failure

Hi, when openeing Daz 14+ i always get the message, in the status bar "Metada 2 files updated, 1 failed". any idea why? this is probably why Octane Render, and Actual Eyes will not work, and the plugin for Octane Render will not load. I have also put a ticket in for this. Thanks

Edit: sorry should have said 1 Item updates successfuly, 1 item failed

IOt means what it says - when you connect to Daz (which is optional) DS looks to see if the product metadata has been updated compared to what it has. if there are metadata (that is product info and categorisation information) updates then it tries to download them. If that fails then it lets you know. At worst the failed product may not show or may not show correctly in views that use metadata (anything other than the Daz Studio Formats/Poser Formats lists in the Content Library pane) - it will have little impact on the use of the content, though there are features which rely on metadata (for example AutoFit - though it's criticial only for the figure that is going to wear the clothing).

the log (Help>Troubleshooting>View Log File) will tell you which product failed to update.

Octane Render just will not work and is greyed out in DIM, also the plug-in will not show despite downloading from the site

  • Does the Octane plug-in even appear in DIM?
