Where did the environment section go?

Hey all. 
Just updated to 4.14. Just wondering where the environment section in render settings has gone? I'm guessing it's just been hidden away somewhere

It will be added when you render or use the Iray drawstyle in the Viewport, or when you add a new environment node from the Create menu

What was gained by making this an additional step instead of including it in the default scene setup as it used to be?
