Dragon Slayer - Race

Not sure where the entry point is to learn how to change the race of a character in a pre-built scene.
Most of the Daz pre-built stuff is sufficient for demos of games I am pitching. I'm not a modeller, knowing how to modify what others have built that I then buy is sufficient to get the job done.
In the case of the Dragon Slayer ready to render scene, I want to change the race of the character in the scene to African-American. Where do I go to find out how to do just that, or whatever thing(s) I need to to do to make that happen.
Thanks.

You would need something like this : http://www.daz3d.com/ethnicity-for-genesis-african
And this for the skin : http://www.daz3d.com/m4-merchant-resource-african
Dragon Slayer is made from a Genesis figure, so it is UV Mapped for V4, M4 and K4 as well as Genesis
Thanks I'll download them.
P.S. Hey Daz:
"Straight from the heart of Africa comes 6 Realistic Face Shapes and 12 Partial Face Shapes that will completely transform your Genesis Figures. Because this is a Genesis product, you can combine any of these faces with figures in your content library to customize characters to your heart's content. "

Straight from the heart of Africa??????
Seriously!!???
There are many different options you can use for both the morph and the skin texture. Questionable wording aside, I agree that the Ethnicity product is an excellent choice--but keep in mind that it's just morphs and doesn't include the skin textures. The textures used in the promo images are these: http://www.daz3d.com/elite-texture-bundle-rob-and-marie which are nicely discounted at the moment.
Lots of other possible choices are listed in this thread.
I thought these two consisted everything I need:
http://www.daz3d.com/ethnicity-for-genesis-african
http://www.daz3d.com/m4-merchant-resource-african
Is that not the case?
What you are suggesting is only another $7 dollars so it's not a big deal, I just want to make sure I have everything in one go.
And I'm not inclined to assign bad intent to the "heart of Africa" description, it is offensive whether it's intended or not. And seeing how I'm potentially likely to be buying a lot of stuff down the road, if a black guy is telling Daz it offends they might want to listen.
Plus, I'm willing to bet there's more than a few descriptions that would tick off female artists too.
The two products above are all that you'll need. I was just pointing out the fact that there are other options too.
Something wrong with this thread? Can't seem to be able to reply.
Apology
Did not realize that was your actual name
Am sorry

So aside from the juvenile mangling of my name, I wasn't talking to you and I'm from Indianapolis by the way, not Africa so your opinion of what does or does not offend me is irrelevant.

It has been for the last 59 years.

Hi, Richard,
I just wanted to point out, if you are not familiar with them, that merchant resources are meant as a beginning point for texture artists to create their own skins for sale. As such, you may find some imperfections in the resource images since you are meant to take them to a final stage. It will depend on how far the person who made the resource image chose to go. If you are not looking to edit and make a full skin, then Scott's suggestion is a better way to go.
That said, I do not see that you posted the URL to the product you are looking to change. You want to make sure that you get a skin that works with the particular figure you will be using. To avoid any need for further purchases, can you list the URL and/or which figure it is?
Cris
The problem is the description hre:
http://www.daz3d.com/ethnicity-for-genesis-african
Having known a few Africans, I can assure you that model is of an African-American who is more likely to be from the heart of Toledo or Minneapolis than the "dark continent". If it looked like the model was in fact of someone from Africa I might not have taken exception. In any case I downloaded it.
Now I'm trying to make the guy not blond.
Maybe you might want to make black hair a standard feature and not an upgrade?
I think Cris is trying to verify which Dragon Slayer you are referring to. I was assuming (and Jimmy too, I think) that you meant the one that looks like this and is included in Genesis Starter Essentials. But if, instead, you're referring to Slaying The Dragon or something else then the answer to the question, "Which products do I need?" might be different.
Prebuilt scenes are like that though - very limited as they're just an already completed piece of art.
Most of the hair I have acquired from Daz has come with a black hair option as one of the defaults, along with brown, red, and blond, and for some reason many of them also have blue, green, and purple... O.o
You can also get hairstyles that have dreads, curls, fros, and so on from the 'after market' sellers - various PAs here and on renderosity.
Take a look at this thread:

for more options.
And here was the thread with my own attempt to start finding diverse options when I first came back to this hobby:

And I think this is my personal favorite hair at the moment:

I've been using your new products for less than one day, so I am still getting the hang of it.
I think I have almost everything I need.
The guy fighting the dragon now has brown skin, I just need to given him my hair.
I bought:
http://www.daz3d.com/ethnicity-for-genesis-african
Now I am trying to replace the hair with bald or black hair.
Black hair really ought be standard, not an add-on.
hair products are always an additional product. It is very very rare to get a character pack which has hair included.
You could of course always learn to use one of these 2 products
http://www.daz3d.com/look-at-my-hair and the free player for it http://www.daz3d.com/look-at-my-hair-free-player which allows you to download free styles that others have made.
http://www.daz3d.com/garibaldi-express-hair-system-for-daz-studio
Or have a look through which hair packs are already available, there are about 1200 in the store, 420 of which are classified as short. You can further modify the choice by selecting the required figure from the left hand menu
http://www.daz3d.com/hair/short
I think I've made a lot of progress in four hours.
I'll give them a look.
Frankly all I want to do now is make the guys hair go away and I'm done.
In that case, all you need to do is go to the Scene pane, find the hair in the list and click on it, then delete it (delete key, or right-click and choose "Remove Item from Scene." You could also right-click directly on the hair in the viewport rather than going to the Scene pane.
Success! Thanks.
BTW, I figured out what was wrong with posting before, there's a minimum number of words or letters required in a post.
