Is it possible for the Iray render engine to be missing?

I don't have the option to choose Iray as a render engine.  Its just not there.  I have multi pass open GL, viewport, 3delight and scripted 3delight.  No Iray. Its not an option in the Views Selection drop down box either.

maybe try reinstalling D|S then, did you have it open when you updated?

Which version of Studio, what gpu, and what version of the Nvidia drivers?

Integrated Iray 2020.1.1 (334300.4226); see this thread for more detail

    • REQUIRES: NVIDIA Driver 451.48 (or newer) on Windows; see NVIDIA Driver Downloads
      • NVIDIA recommends installing Studio Drivers
    • Adds support for Ampere GPUs (SM 8.0 / GA100)
    • Support for SM 3.X/Kepler generation GPUs has been removed - due to CUDA 11
    • Support for SM 5.0/"Small" Maxwell generation GPUs are marked as deprecated - matching CUDA 11

Most 6xx and 7xx gpus are Kepler.

well even no GPU you still have iray

I certainly have it slow and heavy using my CPU as it is on my other computer without a graphics card

it just uses the CPU and cannot denoise

so card and driver version irrelevant to the issue
