Arumbus' Humble offerings
Hi all. I have been around Daz with this account or another I lost the details for from close to the beginning. I have rarely said much.... but thought I would start this thread and see if people like my style. I'm a bit out of vogue, I am afraid. Photorealism is always a secondary consideration for most of my work. Though I love Daz and have used it soon after dropping Poser when Daz first came out, I feel it is just one of many tools to create art. Just like my photoshop, Zbrush, topaz, Wacom, my Canon cameras, a Gazillion brushes, styles, and patterns, and my subscriptions to various stock providers for misc assets. I use them all, very often in the same art piece. Depends on what is needed for the job. If it is photorealism, Daz is not my first choice, my camera is (sorry you photorealism nuts :-), I know to you I speak blasphemy). Need a prop and there are no 3D ones or what is available is mediocre... my stock subscriptions or digital painting is often a better choice than Daz. All this said, Daz is probably my most used tool. My views on post-work are that you should actively use it. I used to be a professional photographer, and they all use it, so do the graphic artist I manage in my day job. So if you can enhance the image with post-work... I say go for it.
So if you are up for some art that if not always a "pure" render I'll put it here in Arumbus' Humble Offerings.
First up a mixed media render from few nights ago using the Daz 3Delight render engine (often my preference because of the light control I use for for my style). V4 and ton of post-work and some non rendered goodies. The piece is called "Whisper Willow" and she is based on my Legends of Mernac fantasy stories. Hope you like her.
