The scattered woodlands of the trust and K

Hello all,


All over the UK there are bits of woodland belonging to the Woodand Trust. Often as in this case just a linear roadside parcel of land with a small welcome sign and a footpath. The tree on the left was our foil for a pose, we'd both been here separately.

At first K had decided on a pose that followed the curve of the branch on the right of the main trunk. She gave up that idea for one that complemented the trees unusual growth with a difficult pose. One that would form part of a dance routine for just a second or two. Added to that was the morning cold and the mist, we knew we only had a few chances of doing it right. A very calm K built the pose and went en pointe perfect! All I did was to use the cable release and be amazed at the tranquillity of the scene amplified by K's pose.

Original in colour, desaturated, toned, modified with hue and saturation and slightly dramatised with curves.
