base character figure models

What would happen if I got a character that was designed for a base model that I don't have? For example a character that says its for Giselle 6 but I tried to put it on Victoria 6 or Olympia 6? Would it create a black hole and destroy the world, or would it be fine?

That would not be a 'base' model.
In the case of Victoria 6 or Olympia 6 (or anything female with a 6) it is a morph of the Base model Genesis 2 Female. If the character was created using a morph, like V6, and you used it on Olympia for example, you would probably not get the exactly the same 'look' that the creator intended.
You could post the details of the character that you want to use (with a link), and perhaps someone here has that model, and can verify if it can be used on either the G2F base, or one of the other morphs like V6 or Olympia 6. You could also try sending a PM to the artist concerned.
If the character is based around Giselle 6, and it is stated as a required product, then you may not get the results you expect.
Agreed JimmyC_2009. On another note, there are some stuff like UV maps that may be required, tho that is not a guarantee, it is an unknown before it is tried. I would suggest you make plans to get the required (Even I call it "Base figure", as so many figures require a select few name6 figures, whatever it's called, lol).
Now, I have found that some figures do look quite good, with the required name6 "dialed in" in the shaping tab. case and point, Niki with and without Aiko6. It's the beginnings of kit bashing.

weather or not a figure will work with or without the other required figure installed, is purely dependent on what the specific figure requires.
The morph won't look the way its intended without the base figure either, so do bear this in mind.
