Daz Studio 4.14 Pro Does Not Render Iray Scenes

I knew I shouldn't download and install an update from DAZ studio.  But I went against all my cautions and installed it anyway even tho I had a working copy of 4.12.0.86. After installation I loaded a scene that I had been working on and Daz Sudio.automatically also added an "Environment Options Node" and a "Tone mapper option node" but it did not add a "Physically-Based Options node" this occured even though I had NVIDIA Iray set as my render engine.

First I tried to render the scene using the Nvidia Iray engine.  After it went through loading of textures and getting the scene ready the render was started and it completed almost immediately with nothing showing in the output screen.I took off the two nodes that had been added and again tried to render the scene with the same result. This update is NOT and improvement

I have since uninstall this update and gone back to Daz Studio 4.12.0.86 and after doing so I loaded the same scene and it rendered as it should.

Did you update your graphic card drivers?

I agree with the driver check. I've been rendering all morning in iRay in DS 4.14 with no problem, and it did not add a PBR node (that I can see.)

I'll look at the drivers after I finish the edits in my current work.  Do you know how to install the new version side by side the old version?  Of course only running one at a time

  • Clsing this thread since it's almost certainly just the driver issue.

No, you can't install two different versions of the same release channel - you can of course have general release and Public Build installed.
