New charcaters and Iray

I found accidentaly in

 

daz connect/ people/genesis8 female/ materials/ base materials/iray

 

some materials for the body. My question is do i need to apply these to every new character i make or do genesis 8 basic female already have them? If i need to apply them do i ned to do it when they are naked or should i dress them so clothes also get the iray?

That's the default skin. In most G8F characters, you go to the "Characters" folder and load a character from there, or search through the sub-folders for a skin you like. The characters dont have to be naked to apply a new skin, but you have to make sure they're selected in the Scene tab.

Paintbox

New skins presets are usually found in People/Genesis 8/Characters/Nameofcharacter

The icon usually has a "material" tag on it, you can select a figure in your scene and click it to apply the new skin material
