Creating textures for a .obj file / importing a obp file

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to put this thing into daz3d with textures: https://www.sharecg.com/v/26469/related/5/3D-Model/Tower-Crane

Only problem is, it is only with textures in Bryce format: https://www.sharecg.com/v/5727/3D-Model/Tower-Crane

Now my question(s):

Which of these is easiest to do, and could any one of you point me to resources to figure out how to do it? Cause I can't see the forest trough the trees anymore.

1. Import the bryce model completely into daz3d somehow

2. Import the .obj file but somehow create different surfaces where needed so I can texture them with shader presets in daz3d

3. Texture the .obj file.

Anyone any clue how to do any of these or any other way to get that thing textured into daz3d?

    My choise would be the obj - basically because I know nothing of Bryce.

    For the obj the creator writes that he recommend use of procedural mats, and that tells me that he has done a proper job of assigning different material zones to different materials, so a quick coloring would be to fill the different surfaces with an appropiate colour.

    If you want to make a real texture you would need to get the obj into a program that can export the UV map (e.g. if you want to get a logo on). In DS you can see the UV, maps but you can't export it, so here my choise would be Blender or Carrara (I only know blender).
