Peache - dForce Midday Tank Top (not dforce!)

[The Tank Top from Peache's dForce Midday] It is supposed to be dforce but it doesn't come with the modifier (and for good reason) when you apply one and run the simulation the top comes away from the straps!
its difficult to get these items looking great without a combination of simulations and morphs so it needs fixing... and I'd rather that than ask for my money back,
Now I'm interested in the new daylight outfit but I'm gonna hold off buying until others can confirm it works (in a simulation) as intended?
Thank you.

There's nothing wrong with the product.
The top isn't d-force compatible, the pants are.
Unfortunately, this is one of those Caveat emptor(buyer beware) situations with the d-force label.
Only part of the outfit has to be setup for d-force to get the label.
if that's true then its more than just the product that needs fixing!... without the implied dforce the top is a very poor item.
@SolitarySandpiper " without the implied dforce the top is a very poor item."
I'll disagree on that one. Have you tried the various movement morphs? I suspect that the PA thought those would be enough. Other than straps and undress, one would not expect that top to be subject to gravity.
You could put in a feature request to add a dForce modifier with weight mappin to make the loose fabric simulate while the straps and the attachment stay pinned. Straps tend not to dForce readily, but I do wish products would have a preview showing which items are dForced (and to what extant).
Here I applied a dForce modifier, then added a dForce weight node from the Create menu. With the Node Weight Map brush right-click menu I selected by surface>Straps and filled with 0, then I used the brush to select some polygons in the top edge of the band and filled those with 0. The rest of the tube and most of the top edge retained a strength of 1. For the second attempt, I selected the straps by Surface, then deselected the bottom two rows of polygons on the ends and filled the remainder with a weight of 1 - then in the Surface settings I set the expand/cotnract ratio to 90% (a lower value might have been better, but care needs to be taken not to overdo it and I was just doing a quick test - hence the model's extrem buzz-cut) and the Collision Offset to 0.15 (as otherwise the shorter length of a lot of the edges would have been fighting the simulation). The straps don't have a back, so they lose thickness in simulating but don't explode as readily as straps modelled in the round.
Top excluding straps dForced:
Top including most of straps dForced
And since I cant resist fiddling, here the Expand/Contract on the straps has been set to 8%% and I've set the front and back to 95%. I also added some Breasts Natural to Gensis 8 Female, so it isn't an entirely fair comparison.
Fair enough and perhaps me being mislead by it's misleading dforce status has soured my judgment on what would otherwise be another quality asset from peache.
Edit: And if you look at a post i make further down this page you will see that dforce is not just useful for simulating gravity.
Thank you Richard for taking the time to present and explain this useful technique... working on it presently.
Couldn't recreate your results after numerouse attempts... my results were the same as if just the modifier was added.
at least i'm aware of a couple new tools.
This is peache's daydream top, it also doesn't have a dforce modifier but with one added i can get the gap bridging effect i require without the use of morphs... so even if peoples opinion is that some tops aren't subject to gravity like a loose fitting garment is it is still very useful to use dforce on them.
I'll put a shortcut on my desktop and try to get back with a step-by-step when things are less frantic.
I struggle with this item (Midday Top). Added dForce dynamic surfaces and changed some settings (stretching etc.). Now the straps somehow loose connection to the rest of the top. Any idea on how to fix this?
You need to create a dForce Weight Map as Richard Haseltine described above.
Oh, that's what that shortcut on my desktop is for. Sorry, I haven't had time to revisit this and make a walk-though.
