Using D-Formers directly on the Genesis figure...

...is it possible?

I remember there being a magnet in Poser, that you could use to shape the body in ways that the shape sliders wouldn't allow. How do I do that in Daz Studio (I'm using 4)?

I have used those instructions to create morphs for Genesis characters. The only thing a little tricky that I don't think is covered in those instructions is that deformers only seem to work correctly for figures at 0,0,0. You can use the deformer to create your morph with the figure at the origin. Then you can use the morph with the figure at any location.

I figured if the base was parented to the figure around the region the morph sphere is, then the other parts parented to that, it would be usable any where in any orientation of the figure.

For example this one to decrees the extreme thinness of some figures waists. I have yet to try it tho moving the figure around, so don't know for sure.
    (Edit)
Also the parts of the D-Form, are at the dead center of the "Field".

I think it is suppose to work that way, but as I remember when you moved to deformer to large co-ordinate values in x and Z, the deformer field was not where the deformer was. It was offset by some amount. I think this is some kind of a bug.

The deformers worked just find at 0,0,0 and I used them to add some morphs to G2F. The morphs were usable at any co-ordinates.

Using that post was how I originally tried to do it, but when I try and create a d-former with the leg selected in the window (box around it, clicking on it) it says that I need to have something selected in the scene or geometry.

In the instructions on that thread, it says:

    4. Click anywhere on the Genesis figure or choose the Genesis figure in the “Scene” tab

You MUST select the entire Genesis figure, not a body part, in either the Viewport (by double-clicking on the figure) or in the Scene pane which is usually easier. Make sure that 'Genesis' is selected in the Scene pan, and NOT Left Thigh or Hip or Pelvis or some other body part.
